The South Louisiana Wetlands Discovery Center is excited to offer our Coastal Classroom program to elementary, middle, and junior high schools in South Louisiana.
These interactive, place-based lessons integrate wetlands education with current Louisiana Science Standards to create memorable experiences for your students.
Our science educators lead these lessons in your classroom and provide all supplies to offer you a hassle-free experience that both you and your students will enjoy.
- Educates elementary, middle, and junior high school students on coastal land loss and adaptation strategies
- Wetlands integrated curriculum following the Louisiana State Educational Standards
- Introduces students to the Louisiana Coastal Master Plan and LA SAFE
- Interactive, place-based, hands-on experiments and activities
- All supplies and scientific equipment provided
- Lessons led by science educators with Masters’ degrees in Marine and Environmental Biology
- Lessons designed to fit within one or two class periods
