Jonathan Foret – Executive Director
Jonathan is responsible for the day to day operations of the organization and implementing the programs of the Wetlands Discovery Center. He has over 15 years of nonprofit administrative, management and fundraising experience on international, national, state, regional and local levels. He holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration with a focus in Nonprofit Leadership and is a native of Chauvin, Louisiana.
Angelle Percle – Assistant Director
Angelle joined the South Louisiana Wetlands Discovery Center’s team in 2013. She is a Mass Communications graduate from Nicholls State University and a native of Houma, Louisiana. Angelle has over 20 years of non-profit marketing and communications experience including skills in program management, social media, graphic design, event management and marketing, media buying, website management, grant management and arts administration.
Samantha Hicks – Program Director
Samantha is originally from a small town in northwest Mississippi. She attended Nicholls State University and graduated with a Master’s degree in Marine and Environmental Biology. Samantha is working to create and implement programs to educate Louisiana’s youth about the changing landscape of our coastal wetlands.
Sarah is a native and resident of Lafourche Parish. She attended Nicholls State University and earned a Master of Science in Marine Biology specializing in fish biology in 2020. Sarah is expanding the Wetlands Discovery Center’s ability to implement programs educating Louisiana’s youth about the changing landscape of our coastal wetlands.
Lindsay Guidry – Museum Coordinator
Lindsay is a native of New Orleans and a long-time resident of Terrebonne Parish. Prior to becoming the Museum Coordinator, Lindsay had been volunteering at SLWDC’s many fundraising events since 2012. She is responsible for the day-day operation of the Waterlife Museum including welcoming tourists, stocking the museum gift shop, securing grant funding for museum improvements, and booking museum tours and rentals.
Katherine Ross – Museum Assistant
Katherine joined the team in August 2023. She is the Museum Assistant responsible for day to day operations within the Bayou Terrebonne Waterlife Museum and the Wetlands Discovery Center. She is currently a student at Fletcher Technical Community College and is a native of Dulac, LA
The South Louisiana Wetlands Discovery Center is revolutionizing how we think, teach and learn about Louisiana’s disappearing coast. Our programs focus on developing adaptation skills in our young people. By doing so, we ensure the survival of our culture along with our workforce.
