Jonathan Foret – Executive Director

Jonathan is responsible for the day to day operations of the organization and implementing the programs of the Wetlands Discovery Center. He has over 10 years of nonprofit administrative, management and fundraising experience on international, national, state, regional and local levels. He holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration with a focus in Nonprofit Leadership and is a native of Chauvin, Louisiana.

 

Samantha Hicks – Program Director

Samantha is originally from a small town in northwest Mississippi. She attended Nicholls State University and graduated with a Master’s degree in Marine and Environmental Biology. Samantha is working to create and implement programs to educate Louisiana’s youth about the changing landscape of our coastal wetlands.

Sarah Fontana – Program Coordinator

Sarah attended Nicholls State University and earned a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology in 2018. She will complete her Master of Science in Marine Biology specializing in fish biology in 2020. Sarah will expand the Wetlands Discovery Center’s ability to implement programs educating Louisiana’s youth about the changing landscape of our coastal wetlands. She is a native and resident of Lafourche Parish and has experience with coastal fisheries, wetland/coastal restoration, science education, and outreach.
