Get a jump-start on Spring by joining the Wetlands Discovery Center for the Good Earth Market on Saturday, April 6, 2019 from 9AM to 2PM. This annual market will be held on the grounds of the Wetlands Discovery Center’s future home located at 112 Library Drive, Houma, LA 70360 next to the Courtyard Marriott near the Houma Terrebonne Civic Center.
The Good Earth Market is a celebration for garden enthusiasts with booth spaces available to vendors from all aspects of the gardening and farming industry. Vendors will be selling native plants, vegetables, ornamental plants, fresh eggs, jams, jellies, baked goods, and homemade soaps. In addition to these past offerings, the Good Earth Market is now open to vendors who sell antiques and collectibles.
“We’re excited to add vendors that sell antiques and collectibles at this year’s Good Earth Market. We’ve always encouraged recycling, and what better way to do that than to use or repurpose items that have already been in use?” said Jonathan Foret, Executive Director, Wetlands Discovery Center.
This annual market also includes educational workshops. This year’s workshops include:
10:00 a.m. – The Art of Beekeeping
10:30 a.m. – Spinning and Weaving Natural Fibers
11:00 a.m. – Raising Backyard Chickens
If you are interested in becoming a vendor, applications will be accepted from now until April 3, 2019.
