Bayouside Cleanup

Wetlands Discovery Center to Host Bayouside Cleanup

To honor the land we are working tireless to save and protect, the Terrebonne Parish Bayouside Cleanup will be held on March 3, 2018 from 9AM to noon.  Volunteers will pick up trash along our bayous and roadways throughout the parish. The Cleanup will end with an after party picnic for volunteers, which will include music, food and drinks from noon-2PM at the future home of the Wetlands Discovery Center at 112 Library Drive next to the Courtyard Marriott.

If you would like to volunteer for the clean up,  please meet team captains at the rallying point of your choice at 9am this Saturday (March 3rd)! The team captains will identify themselves at each of the rallying points. They will have the supplies needed for your group provided by Rougarou Fest, Keep Louisiana Beautiful, and Waste Management.  Please wear closed-toe shoes or boots for your safety. If you have trash grabbers, rakes or gloves that you would like to use, please bring them. Each team will be provided with a limited amount of tools to use.

Be careful of any wildlife that you may encounter along the bayousides. If you are with children, please keep an eye on them at all times.

We will have 6 cleanup locations this year with hopes of expanding for next year.

  1. Corner of Mahler and Main under the twin spans for Eastside area
  2. Waterlife Museum for Downtown Houma area
